Base pay range $81,993.60/yr - $136,656.00/yr The Education and Practice Specialist, under the direction of the Transport Clinical Manager, supports optimal outcomes by providing education and development for nurses and paramedics on the Transport Team. This role involves supporting professional development, advancing clinical practice through knowledge and skill acquisition, competency validation, and lifelong learning. The Specialist leads and coordinates the work of Nurse and Paramedic educators, ensuring all clinical practice aligns with legal, professional, and organizational standards. Collaboration with the Transport Clinical Manager and Medical Director is essential for reviewing performance audits and addressing clinical weaknesses. Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree in nursing or other healthcare field (Required) Minimum Work Experience 5 years of clinical experience in emergency medicine or critical care, including at least two years in pediatric or neonatal care (Required). Additionally, 2 years of teaching experience in a healthcare setting (Required). Required Skills/Knowledge Transport experience (Preferred). Meets qualifications of a Transport Team Nurse or Paramedic. Demonstrates skills in CPR instruction and other clinical programs. Committed to diversity and cultural sensitivity. Required Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse license in District of Columbia (Required), or licensure/certification in specialty as applicable, or Paramedic license (Required). ACLS, BLS, and PALS Instructor certifications are preferred. Functional Responsibilities Support and participate in shared leadership, clinical practice, performance improvement, and staff meetings. Develop educational plans aligned with organizational goals. Coordinate orientation and continuing education for staff. Assess and ensure staff competency per regulatory standards. Demonstrate clinical expertise and facilitate clinical problem solving. Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives. Act as a resource and consultant for clinical programs and organizational initiatives. Promote safety and effective communication within the team. Provide leadership, mentorship, and promote employee engagement. Uphold organizational values of diversity, integrity, and confidentiality. Ensure efficient resource use and cost management. Location and Work Details Primary Location: District of Columbia-Washington at CN Hospital (Main Campus). Full-time, day shift with flexible scheduling.
