Work LocationUnited Nations HQ Expected duration3 to 6 months to start September 2025 Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities of the internship position encompass all aspects of the Directorates work. These responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: • Assist in analysing and interpreting international, regional and domestic legal instruments. • Assist in planning and organising meetings, briefings, roundtables, seminars and other CTED events • Assist in preparing documents arrangements for the organization of CTC/CTED meetings, briefings, roundtables, seminars and other events: • Assist in preparing background notes, talking points for meetings, missions and other events attended by CTED staff; • Conducting research to contribute to CTED analytical products on trends and developments in terrorism and counter-terrorism. • Research, draft and update country profiles and other background documents in preparation for high-level meetings and other events; • Assist with preparing infographics and visual aids for CTED documents and presentations; • Attend and take notes at meetings, conferences and other events; assist in the preparation of summaries and reports of discussions; • Assist in other ad-hoc activities as instructed. An interest in counterterrorism issues or international criminal law is desirable. Qualifications/special skillsTo qualify for the United Nations Secretariat internship programme applicants must, at the time of their submission, be enrolled in a graduate school programme (i.e. Master's degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (i.e. Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree), preferably in the area of law, political science, international relations, social sciences or a related field, OR have graduated with a university degree as defined above AND, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period from the date of graduation.
